It's HOT out there!

Want a creamsicle? Yea, me too. But I'm not going to buy one -- I'm going to make a creamsicle smoothie instead!

This creamsicle smoothie is totally delicious and totally healthy. Store-bought Creamsicles are full of refined sugar and additives and are definitely NOT vegan. These tasty smoothies however are fresh fruit-sweetened, full of EFAs (essential fatty acids) and real ingredients like juicy navel oranges, ripe bananas and even a few superfoods for good measure!

I'm calling this smoothie my "CreamSEXel" smoothie. Why? Well, this smoothie doesn't just stir up creamsicle memories of yore -- the recipe contains energy, stamina and libido boosting ingredients too!

Hey, it's Friday!

What ingredients you ask? Great ones like
maca powder, dates, real vanilla beans and bananas

These same fabulous superfood ingredients are featured in my recent post for some delicious and nutritious SUPER vanilla bean chocolate chippers. These tiny cookies are sure to satisfy your biggest chocolate craving, and maybe even fuel a few other cravings too.

There are many recipes for vegan creamsicle smoothies...but how many turn on more than your blender?

I TOOK this shot, I am not in it...but aren't they cute strangers drinking smoothies?

By incorporating these very healthy key ingredients into a delicious smoothie, you can transform a childhood classic into a sweet treat for grown-ups!

Try the recipe this weekend to beat the heat. This smoothie may satisfy more than just your thirst. It might make your day!

Creamsexel Smoothies!
Makes 4 small creamsicle-esque smoothies, or 2 large smoothies

  • 3 very large ripe navel oranges, peeled, seeds and pith removed
  • 1/2 lime, juice of
  • dash coarse sea salt
  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • 2 small pitted dates or 1 large pitted Medjool date
  • 1.5 tsp maca powder
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla powder or 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1r tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup water

Pulse then blend all ingredients together until very smooth in blender or food processor.

There will be little bits of orange flesh in this drink unless you strain it through a fine mesh sieve -- I didn't bother to strain my smoothies.

Pour into pitcher and serve immediately or chill in the fridge, giving the drink a good stir before serving.
